This section contains all the technical data on the two main brands of MDF we supply.
Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure. We use top grade Deep Route MDF, which is dark, heavy and incredibly smooth at the edges for painting. We can occasionally use Moisture resistant MDF which has a brown surface that you are all used to, but has a green core. This is excellent quality MDF and we often use this, if stock is low on the Deep Route.
